Slip casting of high-purity mullite powder produced by coprecipitation method was studied to fabricate mullite engineering ceramic parts with complicated shapes. The characteristics of the slurries were examined by zeta-potential and viscosity measurements. The preparation conditions of well-dispersed slurries were determined using an organic polymer deflocculant. The most suitable deflocculant content was 0.2wt% of the solid. High-density green bodies (relative density=59.2%) were prepared by vacuum filtration with a polymer resin mold. High-density mullite ceramics (3.12-3.13 g/cm<SUP>3</SUP>) were obtained by sintering at 1650°C for 3hr in air.
