Abstract
Availability Test, pH-dependent test and Japanese leaching test (JLT-13) are applied to municipal solid waste fly ash in order to determine the leaching potential of metals (Al, Cd, Cu, Pb, Zn) . In the pH-dependent test, the behavior of metals was almost the same in spite of the difference in types of incinerator. The results of Japanese leaching test appear to be controlled by pH.<BR>The Availability Test is useful to determine the leaching potential in general. Some of the Availability Test's results show one kind of ash has higher leaching potential than others, although it is determind to be non-hazardous waste according to the current Japanese leaching test. There are some cases, however, where the results of the Availability Test are lower than the maximum release by pH-dependent test.
