Abstract

K-Ar ages were determined for hornblende in andesite lava from the Shimonoseki Subgroup of the Kanmon Group and for hornblende and biotite from the Kawara Granodiorite of the north Kyushu granitic rocks. The Shimonoseki Subgroup gave late Early Cretaceous age of 103 Ma. The Kawara Granodiorite gave latest Early Cretaceous ages of 96.9 Ma (hornblende) and 98.6 Ma (biotite).
