抄録

Higher yields of benzils were obtained by the oxidation of certain benzoins using DMSO-FeCl₃ (1 : 1) complex (Fe-complex). In these reactions, hydrogen atoms in benzoins may be abstructed by oxigen and chlorine atoms in Fe-complex.<BR>The rate of oxidation of 2, 2'-, 3, 3'- and 4, 4'-dimethylbenzoins using Fe-complex are as follows ;2, 2' -dimethylbenzoin >4, 4'-dimethylbenzoin >3, 3' -dimethylbenzoin
