Abstract

Rock fracturing processes are very complicated,nol/linear dynamic systems. So far, they have not been adequately described by any deterministic mathematica】model. The present study indicates that distributions of acoustic emission(AE)events in the time dimension during microfracturillg processes of rock under triaxial compressive stress condition have frac亡al structure, where亡he fractal dimension D is O.43≦D≦1.0,Also,AE behaviors weremodeled usingneural network techniques.AE behaviors at8 10succeeding time points were predicted using corresponding models. The results show that AE behaviors in rock microfracturing processes can be effectively described by the neural dynamic model NN(n,h,1).The models are applicable for making extrapolated predictions of AE behavjors with adequate accuracy.
