Abstract

The present study deals with the difference of the aeroelastic responses of a square prism with rounded corners. The previous studies showed that the aerodynamic behavior changed at non-dimensional curvature of R/B=0.2 by wind tunnel tests and two dimensional simulations. In this paper, we conduct two and three dimensional flow simulations of the aerodynamic force of a square prism with rounded corners at windward portion to compare with wind tunnel tests. The behavior due to variation of flow condition was also investigated through flow visualization by tufts.
