Solubility of PbO in AlCl₃-NaCl Melt

Abstract

The solubility of lead monoxide was measured in an AlCl₃-NaCl molten mixture at 160-320 °C in a Pyrex glass ampoule. The solubility was minimal at 50 mol % AlCl₃ and increased with the temperature and the concentration of AlCl₃ in the melt, but had a maximum at 70 mol % AlCl₃.
