Abstract
This paper describes a new inversion method to calculate back the internal information of the axially sym-metrical arc plasma such as the diameter in radial spectral intensity distribution, the peak spectral intensity, and the peak plasma temperature.<BR>The method only uses the integrated radiation intensities across the plasma column and along the central line of the plasma cross section. The temperature is given by use of the two line intensity ratio method.<BR>The inversion method was applied to a copper arc plasma in air.<BR>It was found out that the measured peak temperature of the arc plasma was good agreement with the theo-retical ones calculated back.
