Far-Wing Excitation Spectra of the Hg6s6p^3P_0-6s7s^3S_1 Inter-Excited-State Transitions Broadened by Ar and Ne
We have measured the laser-excitation spectra of the Hg–Ar and Hg–Ne collisional quasimolecules in the far wings of the Hg 6s6p <SUP>3</SUP><I>P</I><SUB>0</SUB> – 6s7s <SUP>3</SUP><I>S</I><SUB>1</SUB> inter-excited-state transitions broadened by Ar and Ne. The simulation of the spectrum, based on an uniform-semiclassical treatment for the free-free Franck-Condon factor, has been carried out for the Hg–Ar system in order to estimate the potential curves for the <I>E</I><SUP>3</SUP>1 and <I>a</I> <SUP>3</SUP>0<SUP>−</SUP> states of the quasimolecule.
