Enantioselective Allylation of Aldehydes Using Tartrate Eastr Modified Allylsilanes

Tartrate-ester modified allylsilanes, 2-allyl-1,3,2-dioxasilolane-4,5-dicarboxylic esters, (<B>1</B>), were found to serve as useful reagents for regiospecific and stereoselecive allylation of aldehydes. Reactions of <B>1</B> with achiral aldehydes without any catalyst gave the corresponding homoallyl alcohols in good yields (70-90%) with the ee values up to 80%.
