Abstract
Metropolis Monte Carlo Brownian dynamics simulations are performed on model DNA solutions. It is shown that the induced dipole moment responsible for the orientation of a DNA fragment in an applied electric field may have its origin in the displacement of Manning’s condensed counterions along DNA rod axis.
