<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title> <jats:p>Almost perfect enantio-differentiating hydrogenation was achieved by asymmetrically modified heterogeneous catalyst. The hydrogenation of methyl 3-cyclopropyl-3-oxopropanoate over tartaric acid modified Raney nickel gave methyl 3-cyclopropyl-3-hydroxypropanoate in more than 98% of optical purity.</jats:p>
