The composition of three principal components in the extract obtained from tobacco with high pressure CO<SUB>2</SUB> was simulated. In the calculation of solubility, Chrastil's equation was used. The parameters for solubility of the principal components were calculated using the results of the batch extraction (<I>SF ratio</I> = 5), in which components were considered to be in equilibrium. For simulation, the extractable limit was set as the calculation condition for neophytadiene. The simulation results for the batch extraction agreed with the experimental results. Furthermore, considering that the semi-batch extractor was equivalent to a series of batch cells, the compositions of the principal components could be also calculated satisfactorily.
