Abstract
Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) is a very useful measurement technique for studying fluid flow. The fluid flow is visualized by seeding with small tracer particles. Then the flow visualization images are analyzed to obtain the velocity distribution of the flow. However visualized particle image contains noise or background image. Therefore we need pre-processing to eliminate noise or to emboss particle image.<BR>In this paper, a method of pre-processing is described and the effect of pre-processing is examined by using an artificial double exposure image.
