Some vehicles will need the one different from an old propeller as a mechanism to generate effective thrust, which move in a special environment in the fluid with high viscosity. In such a case, peristalsis has the possibility to apply very much as a effective propulsion system.<BR>In this research, the model composed of the rubber membrane which did peristalsis was made, and 2-dimensional flow velocity field was analyzed by particle tracking velocimetry. The data number for the analysis was able to be increased by overlapping information on the same phase, because peristalsis is the periodic motion.<BR>Detailed information on the complex flow velocity field which generated by peristalsis was able to be obtained from this analysis. It has been understood that there is a tendency for the direction of the progressive wave to generate the flow of the opposite direction in the remote area, the flow in the vicinity of moving membrane was accelerated widely by the peristalsis motion.
