The present work studied experimentally three-dimensional flow structures within periodically grooved channels with different groove lengths at intermediate Reynolds numbers. It is found that a regular three-dimensional structure with Taylor-Goertler like vortices appears near the bottom of each groove after the onset of self-sustained oscillation. The Reynolds number for the onset of three-dimensional flow decreases with the increase of groove length.
