Abstract

The present paper describes the observed results of limiting streamline on ship hull surface of the fore part of the model. The visualization using oil flow method shows clearly the difference between the streamline without the turbulent stimulator, stud here, and one with the stimulator. In order to examine this phenomenon, the several observation methods are applied, and the numerical simulation, CDF, is also made. It is found that the three-dimensional separation occurs behind the shoulder of ship model near the free surface in the case of laminar flow. The inference of the turbulent stimulator to the limiting streamline is clarified.
