抄録

This paper deals with the influence of the shape of grooves on the cross-flow around a circular cylinders. Pressure distribution and drag and lift coefficients were measured in a uniform flow in the Reynolds number range of 1×10 4≤Re≤1×10 5.The Reynolds number regime was classified by the variation in the drag coefficient with Reynolds number. The test results revealed that compared with smooth cylinder, the drag coefficient of Low wind pressure cable model could be reduced. Lift was generated in the range of critical Reynolds number. The width of the flow behind the circular cylinder become narrow when grooves were made on the circular cylinder surface and separation point moved backward.
