Abstract
There have been many researches of fire spread speed of city area fires at the time of earthquakes since the Great Kanto Earthquake. Those research results were introduced to the city fire prevention plans. And various ideas were examined. Fire spread speed changes by the structure, arrangement, density of building and so forth. Quite a lot part of the research was mainly the relation between wind velocity and fire spread speed. Thereupon, factors such as the structure, arrangement, density, wind velocity and also time of a building fire spread area at the time of an earthquake and the strong leeward has been analyzed. First of all, the mean value of fire spread speed has been obtained from the burn-out area. Next, each relation such as maximum value, minimum value of fire spread speed has been examined.
