Thermoelastic Properties of MgSiO_3 and CaSio_3 Perovskites under Lower-Mantle Conditions

A four-parameter model for calculating P-V-T equation of state and adiabatic Lamé constants of MgSiO<SUB>3</SUB> and CaSiO<SUB>3</SUB> perovskites is presented. The resulting equations of state are in good agreement with available experimental data. The calculated density and sound velocities, v<SUB>p</SUB> and v<SUB>s</SUB>, of these silicate perovskites under lower-mantle conditions are compared with PREM.
