Abstract
Neutron scattering experiments under high pressure revealed the existence of quite novel magnetic structures in CeP at low temperatures. They are characterized by the formation of a lattice of 2μB Ce ferromagnetic layers, inside of which Γ7 Ce layers are sandwiched and orders antiferromagnetically rather independently. The period of the 2μB Ce lattice becomes shorter with increasing pressure, and at the pressures above 1. 7 GPa, the magnetic structures become quite similar to those seen in CeSb at ambient pressure. It indicates that the electronic structure of CeP becomes closer to that of CeSb under high pressure. The present results provide useful information to understand common physics in the typical low-carrier system Ce-monopnictides.
