Abstract

Recent progress on superconductivity of fullerene based solids is reviewed with an emphasis on their pressure effect. Multinary fullerene compounds with alkali metals, alkaline earth metals, and neutral molecules have enabled us to control the band-filling and crystal structure. Among them, intercalation of neutral molecules afforded compounds with expanded lattice showing anomalous relations between lattice parameter and Tc. Experimental results of the pressure dependence of Tc revealed that Tc is not controlled simply by the lattice parameter in the large unit cell region. This phenomenon is possibly related to the proximity of superconductivity and antiferromagnetism in this region.
