Electrical resistivity measurements under hydrostatic pressure have been carried out on single crystals of BaCo<SUB>1-x</SUB>Ni<SUB>x</SUB>S<SUB>2</SUB>, which has a layered structure and exhibits the Mott metal-insulator transition with varyingx. It has been found that the Mott transition can also be controlled by the external pressure p. Based on the resistivity data, a T-p-x phase diagram has been constructed, and the physical properties near the Mott transition induced by the pressure p are presented.
