Abstract
Shock Hugoniot curves for three kinds of polyethylene (PE) specimen with different crystallinity have been measured for 1 GPa shock stress region by a new experimental method based on the total internal reflection by prism. It is found that the obtained Hugoniot curved for PE are non-linear as in the case of PMMA and depends on the different crystallinity and initial density.
