Abstract

Mention is made of the technical trends of municipal solid waste (MSW) treatment in Europe. Total amount of MSW and treatment technology varies according to legal regulations (containers and packaging recycling laws, the stack gas regulations, and combustion residue regulations) . Water-cooled grates, dust collection at high temperatures, and gasification & pyrolysis are referred to as new trends.
