Abstract

Is it effective to teach students by using image pictures? This study describes imagery differences between individual students. Students, beginners were asked to visualize the line problem of descriptive geometry taught at the class. After that they drew pictures showing how they“see” the problem. There were a lot of differences between each student's picture. The images that students drew often were different with the content of taught material. Students didn't follow teacher's instructions in visualizing solid and pictorial drawings. As their comprehension of taught material increased they would easier and correctly visualize it. The relation between imagery and linguistic knowledge is very important in teaching process. Teacher should be able to read student's imagery in according to assist creating it.
