Abstract

In this report, the method to extract the impression from pattern was proposed.<BR>The attribute of the point, the line, etc. and those combinations were defined as the composition elements. Impressions of pattern were synthesized and those were able to be explained by the composition elements. As confirm of utility of this method, apparel checked patterns were examined.<BR>First of all, the impression of patterns have been compressed into four principal components. And, 80 percent of all impression of patterns were able to be explained using these 4 principal components. Next, for a purpose of extraction of the impression from the composition element, the correlation of the composition element and the impression was examined. The extraction of the impression from the pattern becomes possible by forecasting the principal component of the impression. Then, each principal component model was calculated from component elements by Hayashi s Quantification Method I.<BR>The error ratio of the model by the simulation was a practicable range for models. Therefore, the utility of this method was proven.
