抄録

Hyperbranched aromatic polyesters were synthesized by the palladium-catalyzed polymerization of 3, 5-dibromophenol with carbon monoxide through the CO insertion reaction. The IR spectra of the resulting polymers exhibited a carbonyl absorption. When phenol or m-cresol was added to the reaction mixture to act as end-capping groups, polymers having good solubility were obtained. The degree of branching (DB) of these Polymers was ca. 50% as determined by ¹H NMR spectroscopy.
