<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title> <jats:p>Novel donor/acceptor-type tetrathiafulvalenes, tetrathiafulvaleno-quinonemethide and -thioquinonemethide were synthesized, which are expected as new π donor molecules bearing d local spin, because they can capture several magnetic metal ions through binding with the carbonyl oxygen or thiocarbonyl sulfur atom.</jats:p>
