抄録

Pasting operation of offset press for newspaper is performed automatically without printing speed reduction. For preventing the miss of pasting operation, careful preparation of roll surface to be pasted is required. To handle the heavy roll efficiently for the preparation work, PPR (Paper Preparation Robot) has been adopted in the press room. Function of the PPR should include the followings; 1) removing side boards, 2) tearing off wrapped protection paper, 3) treating the end of the roll for pasting. This paper explains functions of PPR in detail and figures depict the operating views of this equipment.
