A new chiral stationary phase for capillary gas chromatography based on a chirally modified p-tert-butylthiacalixarene with (S)-1-phenylethylamine was prepared to show good separations of enantiomeric amino acid, amine and alcohol derivatives, while the corresponding p-tert-butylcalixarene counterpart did not differentiate the enantiomers.
