The Crystal Structure and Magnetic Properties of Cu^<II>-Ni^<II> Heterodinuclear Complex with N, N'-Bis(2-pyridyl-ethyl)-oxamide Dianion

A new Cu<SUP>II</SUP>-Ni<SUP>II</SUP> heterodinuclear complex [Cu(PEoxd)Ni(bpy)<SUB>2</SUB>](ClO<SUB>4</SUB>)<SUB>2</SUB>·1/2H<SUB>2</SUB>O has been synthesized and its structure determined by single crystal X-ray analysis. Crystal data: space group <I>P</I>2<SUB>1</SUB>/c with a = 9.226(2) Å, b = 30.857(6) Å, c = 14.241(3) Å, and β = 97.36(3)°, V = 4021(2) Å<SUP>3</SUP>, Z = 4. Magnetic measurement indicates that the overall magnetic behavior is weakly antiferromagnetic.
