<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title> <jats:p>Ring-opening polymerization of cyclic diesters, ethylene dodecanedioate and ethylene tridecanedioate, took place using lipases as a catalyst under mild reaction conditions to give the corresponding polyesters with molecular weight of several thousands. Enzymatic polymerizability of these new monomers was compared with that of lactones.</jats:p>
