Abstract

Carabid beetle fauna on the Ozegahara moor and its surrounding mountains was surveyed by three collection methods: extraction from soil samples, pitfall trapping and collection with hands. During the present research, 37 carabid species of 15 genera, including 20 species newly recorded in Ozegahara Moor and its surrounding mountains, were collected. Trechus yosiianus was the most abundant species during the present study and was collected mainly in the mountainous forests surrounding the Ozegahara moor.
