Abstract
This paper presents an attempt to evaluate the skid friction resistance associated with an amount of hoarfrost on the bridge road surface. This phenomenon is described by heat and moisture transfer between bridge road and atmosphere, which considered micrometeorological properties. Field surveys and indoor experiments are carried out in order to estimate the beginning time of the hoarfrost and the time variation of the skid friction resistance using a mathematical model developed by authors. The intimate relationship of both the skid friction resistance and the variation of micrometeorology were evaluated by the sensitively numerical computing based on this model.
