All except 5 patients could control the pain by about 4 times a day application of Oxethazaine ointment with two tablets of 35mg diclofenac sodium. No side effect including headache and no systemic sign were noticed. Oxethazaine is not soluble in most fluids and only the solved part showed its effect, this peculiar character of Oxethazaine is why Oxethazaine ointment has long effectiveness and safety. From this study it was concluded that Oxethazaine ointment is a safe and easy way to control pain after anal surgery. With this method, day surgery for anal disease can be strongly promoted.
