A 43-year-old female visited our hospital with complaints of high fever and severe right abdominal pain. Abdominal CT scan showed a target sign in the right lateral abdominal region. Gastrografin enema revealed coiled-spring appearance there. After repair of ileocolic intussusception, there was no mass lesion in the terminal ileum. By colonoscopic examination, multiple irregular-shaped ulcers in the terminal ileum were found. By barium enema examination, numerous filling defects in the terminal ileum were found. Stool culture was negative. The diagnosis was Yersinia enterocolitica (Y. C.) infection because of significant elevation of antibody O-3 titer to Y. e. Adul cases of intussusception caused by Yersinia infection have been very rarely reported both at home and abroad.
