Colostomy is conventionally been carried out for proctostenosis due to peritoneal metastasis. However, rectal endoprosthesis with a self-expanding stent (EMS) in the narrow segment was f er formed in three cases (Case 1 : 45-year-old female with gastric cancer dissemination, Case 2 : 55-year-old female with ovarian cancer recurrence, Case 3 : 42-year-old female with vesicoureteral cancer recurrence) without colostomy. EMS was manually intruduced under the diaphanoscopy. In all cases, enterostasis was promptly relieved, and oral intake became possible. As a result, Case 2 was discharged and Case 3 stayed at home ovetnight. This stent may be useful for patients with stenosis limited to the rectum, in whom surgical ablation of all lesions is impossible.
