抄録

The development of industrial method for converting a raw material into useful materials and products completely without generating pollutants such as waste gas, wastewater, and solid waste materials is expected to be a significant conversion technique based on zero emission. In this work, the conversion of eucalyptus into useful materials was investigated for the effective utilization of its components such as cellulose, hemicellulose, methanol soluble lignin, and Klason lignin by steam explosion. The cellulose, the hemicellulose, and the methanol soluble lignin were converted into fuel materials, i.e. ethanol or methane and pulp, monosaccharides and oligosaccharides, and highfunctional resin without an estrogenic activity, respectively. The amounts of useful materials and products produced from each component, and the amounts of carbon in respect to carbon dioxide after combustion were estimated, and the function and the detoxification of the lignin resin were clarified
