抄録

Surface temperatures measured by the thermal imager were often lower than those measured by the thermocouple thermometer under the low temperature conditions, e.g., during the night in the early spring and the winter. Some experiments were made in order to examine the cause of measurement errors by the thermal imager.<br>Water temperatures and cabbage leaf temperatures were measured in a normal temperature room (20°C), in a low temperature room (4°C), and outside the room, using three kinds of thermometers; thermocouple thermometer, thermal imager, and glass thermometer. The measurement errors by the nocturnal sky radiation were small in this experiment. On the other hand, the measurement errors of the thermal imager increased with decreasing temperature and attained to about 2-3°C in the low temperature room of 4°C. Measurement errors of the thermal imager depended on the body temperature of the camera.<br>The body temperature of the camera or the ambient air temperature seem to be available for correction of measurement error of the thermal imager under the low temperature conditions.
