抄録

Characteristics of business and commercial waste emission and their infusion in household waste collection were analyzed to quantify the effects of business and commercial waste discharge route choice on the condition of pricing collection of household waste. Results of the questionnaires targeting on industries, shops and offices at Ohtsu City and Kusatsu City indicated that almost 18% of gross household waste collection is business and commercial waste infusion at Ohtsu City and almost 5 % at Kusatsu City. As for the household waste collection system, free collection is available at Ohtsu City but the pricing collection system is enforced at Kusatsu City. Significant reduction of business and commercial waste infusion in cities with the pricing household waste collection system was evaluated from another questionnaire targeting the nationwide 655 municipalities, and several statistics. However, net household waste reduction could not be observed significantly even in cities with the pricing household waste collection system.
