Abstract
In this paper a theoretical study about water-oil two layers overflow upon a sharp-crested weir is presented. It is also a basic study of leaked oil collection for deposal of ocean pollution. As the first step only oil overflow case is analyzed according to the momentum equation and the energy equation. The results of both theoretical equations are compared with experimental results respectively. It is shown that the solution based on the momentum equation is closer to experimental results than the solution based on the energy equation. It also implies that interface tension plays a role in water-oil two layers weir flow.
