Abstract

In case the scattering water drops and the scales when fish jumps in the operation process for counting seedlings fry, the light sensor head's face installed in the outside wall of the measuring pipe becomes polluted. Therefore, since the light line was cut off by the pollution, the light sensor operation and counting problems arise. So, the authors developed a sucking out system for preventing pollution of the sensor head,s face from scattering water drops with occurring vacuum pressure by an aspirator installed between the light sensor head's face and measuring pipe. Flow rate of aspirator, a distance between the inside wall of measuring pipe and sensor head's face, and the relationship between the size of water drops and perfomance of the system preventing pollution of sensor head's face from scattering water drops were investigated. The results were as follows. 1. When flow rate of water into the aspirator was 134 ml/s, the vacuum pressure was 98 kPa. 2. In case the length of the hole for preventing pollution of the sensor head,s face from scattering water was 30 mm, the difference of pressure between the hole for preventing pollution of the sensor head's face from scattering water and atmosphere was 2 kPa, and the scattering initial velocity of water drop was 10 m/s, it could be estimated that preventing pollution of the sensor head's face from scattering water.
