Abstract

A 42-year-old woman underwent a laparotomy for intussusception (five-fold tubular) caused by a small intestinal tumor. Twenty-five days after a successful surgical reposition of the intussusception, intestinal obstruction developed. Fluoroscopic examination of the small intestine revealed a tubular nallowing. No symptomatic relief was attained and the patient was reoperated on 38days after the initial operation. Resected material showed stenosing ishemic inflammation of the small intestine.<br> Ischemic small intestinal inflammation is a relatively rare entity and a variety of causes can be considered. In this case, the intussusception is thought to cause the disoder.
