抄録

We present a case of necrotizing fasciitis in the abdominal wall after a laparoscope assisted sigmoidectomy. A 65-year-old man was performed a laparoscope assisted sigmoidectomy at another hospital on June 25, 1997. After the operation, necrotizing fasciitis occurred with septic shock, and this patient was transferred to our medical center 3 days after the operation. On the 6th day after the operation, an emergency operation was performed. The necrosis of subcutaneous fat layer and fascia extended to entire abdomen. The affected abdominal wall was incised and necrotic tissue debrided as thoroughly as possible. On a culture of necrosed tissue, Enterococcus faecalis and Morganella morganii were isolated.<br> After this operation, systemic administration of antibiotics and gamma-globulin was started, and irrigation of the abdominal wall was daily performed with aqua oxidizing water.<br> This patient gradually recovered, and made a full recovery 2 months after the operation.
