Metastatic gastric cancer from breast cancer is relatively rare. We report such a case and review the literature. A 45-year-old woman reporting epigastric fullness and vomiting was referred to our hospital with a history of modified radical mastectomy for right breast cancer in 1993. Radiology and endoscopy showed a deformed antrum with pyloric stenosis. Pathological findings for the biopsy specimen did not indicate a cancerous lesion. Subtotal gastrectomy was done under a diagnosis of primary gastric cancer. Histological examination showed the cancerous lesion spanned the submucosal layer to the serosa but the mucosa was intact. The histological features were similar to those of breast cancer, so we concluded that the gastric cancer resulted from previous breast cancer.
