Abstract

A 79-year-old woman admitted with abdominal discomfort was diagnosed as early gastric cancer and mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma by endoscopic biopsy. After H. pylori eradication, we conducted total gastrectomy. We found early gastric carcinoma (type 0 I T1 sm, n0, pap, ly0, v0) at the posterior wall of the upper third of the stomach, MALT lymphoma at the anterior wall of the upper third, and submucosal tumor with dele (endocrine cell carcinoma, sm, n1, ly1, v1) at the anterior wall of the middle third. She was discharged from the hospital on postoperative day 23 and followed up carefully because endocrine cell carcinoma metastasized to other organs and carried a poor prognosis.
