Intussusception is a relatively frequent cause of intestinal obstruction in infancy and childhood. It is predominantly of the ileo-colic type, which has no correlation to any organic diseases. We present a rare case of colo-colic intussusception caused by a juvenile polyp which was successfully treated by colonoscopic polypectomy.<br> A 6-year-old boy was admitted to the hospital because of abdominal pain and bloody stool. Abdominal computed tomography demonstrated intussusception with target sign. Barium enema showed colo-colic intussusception with a coil spring sign at the junction of descending-sigmoid colon. It also showed a polypoid lesion as a leading point. Hydrostatic reduction was successfully done. However, recurrent symptoms occurred within 24 hours and attempts of reduction were in vain. Colonoscopy revealed a polyp 2.5cm diameter with stalk in the descending colon. The Yamada type IV polyp was removed by a colonoscopic polypectomy. The patient's postoperative course was uneventful, and he was discharged very much improved on the fourth day after the operation. Histopathological study confirmed the diagnosis of juvenile polyp.
