Abstract
A 59-year-old man was referred to the hospital because of constipation and a left lower quadrant abdominal pain, suggestive of intestinal obstruction. Endoscopic and imaging studies revealed colonic obstruction with associated intussusception. An emergency laparotomy revealed an intussusception in the descending colon. A partial resection of the left-side colon was performed. The resected specimen showed an invaginated diverticulum of the descending colon, forming the intussusception. It has been rarely reported that invaginated colonic diverticulum causes colonic intussusception so far. We report this very rare case together with a review of the literature.
