抄録

This paper describes a case of primary mesenteric squamous cell carcinoma. A 68-year-old woman was pointed out having a movable tumor at the upper mid abdomen accidentaly during evaluation for diabetes mellitus. Laparotomy was performed under a suspection of malignant mesenteric tumor, because serum CEA, SCC and CA15-3 level increased. The tumor existed at the mesentery between the stomach and transverse colon. Excision of the tumor with partial resection of the stomach and transverse colon was performed. Excised tumor was 60×55×35mm in size and 162g in weight. Pathologically it was diagnosed as squamous cell carcinoma. The patient died of local recurrence and broad cerebral infarction 1 year and 4 months after operation but postoperative full body examination showed no other primary region. So it was diagnosed as primary mesenteric squamous cell carcinoma. This presented case is so rare that no other case of primary mesenteric squamous cell carcinoma has been seen in the Japanese literature so far. We couldn't operate again for confirmation, but we reported this case as a very rare case.
